Panagiotis Theoulakis received his BSc in Mining and Metallurgical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1983 and his PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is a Professor of Stone Deterioration and Conservation at the Technological Education Institute of Athens, Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Work of Arts since 2010. He was appointed the position of Associate Professor at the same Department in 2003. From 2006 to 2010 he was the Head of the Department of Conservation of Antiquities and Work of Arts. From 1999 to 2003 he worked for the Medieval City of Rhodes Restoration Project – Inspection Committee Greek Ministry of Culture. From 1983 to 1999 he worked for the Committee for the Restoration of the Temple of Apollo Epikourios, Greek Ministry of Culture. From 1983 to 1990 he worked at the Stone Conservation Center of the Greek Ministry of Culture. He has coordinated a number of research programmes and has participated in more than twenty research consortia. His work is published in international scientific journals and conferences.
